Our Story
Clark Auction Service was started over 60 years ago by Clair Clark. Clair conducted hundreds of farm, real estate, and household auctions in Northern Iowa and Southern Minnesota. Clark Auction Service is known for their quality auctions and their personal service to the customer. Their clients are their number one priority. Since Clair’s passing, his son Jerry Clark has taken over the business. Jerry has had a long history with Clark Auction Service and is an accomplished auctioneer himself.
Dave Guerdet joined the company in 2001 as Co-Owner and Auctioneer. Dave grew up on a farm outside of Swea City and is very knowledgeable on anything to do with Farm Equipment, Farmland, Collectibles, Antiques. He is the one that does all the internet work when Clark Auction does internet bidding. He also does the updating of the website. Dave is here to make sure your auction is a success!
Steve Fausch joined up with Clark Auction in 2017 and is a great asset to the company. He has sold numerous real estate auction in his career. Steve is weel-known in the real estate business in Southern Minnesota.
We have built a mailing list for each type of auction so we can get the right people to the auctions. Having the right buyers brings the best return for our clients. We’re always looking for more ways to bring quality buyers to our auctions. We use many publications to advertise for our auctions to draw the most people: local papers, Iowa Farmer Today, Red Power, Antique Trader, Collectors Journal, and many others.
Clark Auction has taken advantage of advertising with all the social media platforms. Selling on all including Ebay, Whatnot, EquipmentFacts, Proxibid, Hibid & more! We are continuing to build a new and improved website & using our Facebook page to promote our auctions.

Meet Our Team
Jerry Clark
Jerry Clark worked with his Father, Clair Clark, in the auction business long before he was a teenager. Throughout this time Jerry did everything on an auction from clerking to settling. In 1993, Jerry went to the Worldwide Auction College in Mason City, Iowa, and he took over Clark Auction Service that same year. Over the years, Jerry has conducted hundreds of farm, real estate, and household auctions in Northern Iowa and Southern Minnesota. His knowledge and experience in farm equipment and antiques makes him the lead auctioneer in his company.
Dave Guerdet
Dave joined the company as Co-Owner and auctioneer in 2001. Dave comes from a farming background and brings his knowledge of farm equipment and technology to the company. Jerry and Dave work extremely well together, and they put every effort into bringing the highest dollar for their clients.
Steve Fausch
Steve Fausch is a lifelong resident of Fairmont, Minnesota. His education includes graduation from Fairmont High School, Minnesota State University where he received a Business Administration degree, the Riesch College of Auctioneering in 1977 and attending appraisal courses to receive his Minnesota Real Estate Appraisal License. Steve purchased farm land in Martin County and was actively farming until 1997.
